Fall preview: the Instructional Leaders Meeting, August 27–28

The first Coalition meeting of the fall brings California's high school instructional leaders to Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach for two days of working conversation.

The Coalition's fall season opens August 27–28 with the Instructional Leaders Meeting at Old Ranch Country Club in Seal Beach. If you own instruction for a high school district — as an assistant superintendent of educational services, a director of curriculum, or the person your superintendent turns to when the question is "what is actually happening in our classrooms?" — this is your room.

What two days look like

Coalition meetings run on honest conversation, not conference-hall theater. Over two days you will sit with instructional leaders from districts across California, compare what is working and what is not, and get a clear read on the legislation ahead that will touch teaching and learning. You go home with ideas your district can use — and the phone numbers of the people who already tried them.

This fall, expect the age-of-AI question to be close to the center of the instructional conversation — it is the theme of our October State Conference for a reason, and instructional leaders are living it first: what students may use, what teachers should model, and what any of it means for how work gets assessed.
